Alleged N-Power Fraud: ICPC Told What To Do After Arresting D'Banj

ICPC has been told what to do after arresting D’Banj over alleged N-Power fraud.

News ToGo reported that Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo, known as D’Banj was nabbed for alleged fraud associated with the N-Power Programme. He was arrested by operatives of the ICPC amid calls for action.

Nigerians have called on the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, to name the politicians, and government officials involved in the said fraud. They believe that D’Banj could not be the only one involved.

Recall that the singer was accused of diverting the N-Power funds with the help of some top government officials. Nigerians are demanding that ICPC should be transparent in their investigation and arrest all those involved in the saga.

ICPC picked D’Banj up on Tuesday. It went ahead to confirm his arrest in a statement on Wednesday, stating that the singer is currently assisting the investigators to unravel the circumstances of the fraud allegations by the petitioners.

Nigerians on social media also demanded for the Minister’s probe.

@ChukyUnfazed, “If the woman in charge is not arrested together with other officials, then you are not serious.”

@Sunshine4realsh, “You all mentioned and arrested D’banj but the government officials are unknown, So painful, no transparency.”

lerritweet, “Very easy for ICPC to arrest D’banj and broadcast it but the government officials he allegedly colluded with cannot be named right?, This country and double standards, we are watching.”

@OlusholaOba, “The greatest fraud in npower is @Sadiya_farouq joined by the house committee on disaster, those people have finished Nigeria.”

JUST IN: TB Joshua's Emmanuel TV Channel Removed

YouTube has removed the primary channel associated with the late founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Prophet TB Joshua—Emmanuel TV.

News ToGo reports that the channel, which broadcasts the religious activities of the church, was taken down following allegations against the late preacher. This action comes after the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) aired controversial documentary reports about allegations of torture and rape linked to TB Joshua.

The termination of Emmanuel TV’s channel on YouTube is a response to the platform’s policies against hate speech, cyberbullying, and harassment, particularly targeting survivors of sexual violence. The move follows openDemocracy’s report on more than 50 abusive videos amplifying attacks against Joshua’s accusers.

The documentary by BBC World Service, in collaboration with openDemocracy, featured whistleblowers who made on-the-record allegations of sexual and psychological torture, financial fraud, and criminal negligence by Joshua. In a disturbing backlash, YouTube accounts promoting SCOAN shared archival video footage depicting experiences of these abuse survivors, leading to the termination of Emmanuel TV’s channel.
