BREAKING: DSS Reveals What It Is Doing After US Terror Attack Alert Emerged

BREAKING: DSS has revealed what it is doing after US terror attack alert emerged.

News ToGo learned that the terror attack alert was issued by the United States Embassy which revealed that terror attacks could happen in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

It further warned its citizens in Nigeria to be careful and avoid some public places. The U.S. Mission in its statement on Sunday listed targets spots as government buildings, places of worship, schools, markets, shopping malls, hotels, and bars.

However, the Department of State Services, DSS, has reacted to the security alert and disclosed what it is doing over the issue. It said that that it is already working. The DSS called for calm and advised Nigerians to be vigilant following the alerts.

The DSS promised that it would work with other security agencies to maintain peace, and appealed to Nigerians to help security agencies with useful information regarding threats and suspicious criminal acts around them.

The statement reads, “The Department of State Services has received several enquiries relating to the security advisory issued by the US Embassy in Abuja, today, 23/10/22. The public may recall that the Service had variously issued similar warnings in the past.

”The Service calls for calm as it works with other law enforcement agencies and stakeholders to maintain peace and order in and beyond Abuja.”

This is not the first time such terror attack alerts would be issued by the US Mission or others. There have been such warnings in the past, and some of the time, no attack would occurred. At some other times, there would be attacks including the ones carried out by armed bandits. It is left for the DSS and other security agencies to rise up to the occasion to forestall any attacks.

JUST IN: TB Joshua's Emmanuel TV Channel Removed

YouTube has removed the primary channel associated with the late founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Prophet TB Joshua—Emmanuel TV.

News ToGo reports that the channel, which broadcasts the religious activities of the church, was taken down following allegations against the late preacher. This action comes after the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) aired controversial documentary reports about allegations of torture and rape linked to TB Joshua.

The termination of Emmanuel TV’s channel on YouTube is a response to the platform’s policies against hate speech, cyberbullying, and harassment, particularly targeting survivors of sexual violence. The move follows openDemocracy’s report on more than 50 abusive videos amplifying attacks against Joshua’s accusers.

The documentary by BBC World Service, in collaboration with openDemocracy, featured whistleblowers who made on-the-record allegations of sexual and psychological torture, financial fraud, and criminal negligence by Joshua. In a disturbing backlash, YouTube accounts promoting SCOAN shared archival video footage depicting experiences of these abuse survivors, leading to the termination of Emmanuel TV’s channel.
