NYSC Reveals Why It Did Not Pay Corpers In June, Moves To Pay Them

NYSC has disclosed why it did not pay corps members aka corpers in June.

News ToGo reports that NYSC failed to pay Corps Members their allowance in June this year. The development made many of the affected people to be worried. However, the National Youth Service Corps has explained the reason behind it in a statement by its Director, Press and Public Relations, Eddy Megwa.

He stated that the delay was caused by the administration of funds by various banks that are yet to credit Corps Members’ accounts. Megwa who apologized for the delay added that Management is seriously working with the banks to fast-track the payment of June allowance without further delay.

The scheme appealed to all Corps Members to be calm and law-abiding. It also advised them to be dutiful in their respective places of national service as the NYSC will continue to treat issues about their welfare with utmost priority.

Corps Members usually get allowance monthly to help them in meeting their basic needs during their service year. Any delay in the payment of their allowances will affect them as they would be unable to meet their needs.

With the surging prices of things in the country, the non-payment of the allowance may complicate things for them. Hopefully, they would soon smile as the NYSC has pledged that it would make the payment without delay.
