River Niger Has Overflowed, FG Issues Strong Warning To Nigerians, Reveals Road To Avoid
River Niger Has Overflowed, FG has issued a strong warning to Nigerians and revealed the roads to avoid.
News ToGo gathered that the Federal Government of Nigeria has warned Nigerians travelling to avoid the Lokoja-Abuja road for now as danger lurks there. Travellers going to the North from both South and East are advised to use other alternative routes instead of plying that road which has become dangerous due to persistent and life-threatening floods.
Speaking on this issue, the Federal Controller of Works in Kogi State, Engr Jimoh Kajogbola gave the warning in a statement in Lokoja, advising motorists to opt for alternative routes, Daly Post reports. He said, “Due to the flooding in the country, River Niger has overflowed the Lokoja-Abuja dual carriageway at Koton-Karfe and rendered it dangerous to road users.
“Abuja-bound motorists from the South-West are advised to pass through the Ilorin-Mokwa-Bida road, while motorists from the East and South-South are advised to pass through Makurdi-Lafia road.”
The alternative roads, according to him, should be adhered to pending the time the water level will recede.
Kajogbola said that the advice equally applies to South-South, South-East and South-West bound motorists from the Northern parts of the country. He urged them to either take Abuja-Lafia-Makurdi-Otukpa road or Abuja-Bida-Mokwa-Jebba road pending the time that the water will subside at Koton-Karfe.
Apart from Kogi, some other states in Nigeria have been witnessing serious flooding which has affected many people. A number of them in Yobe State, Zamfara State, and other states have been displaced and rendered homeless amid concerns.

JUST IN: TB Joshua’s Emmanuel TV Channel Removed
YouTube has removed the primary channel associated with the late founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Prophet TB Joshua—Emmanuel TV.
News ToGo reports that the channel, which broadcasts the religious activities of the church, was taken down following allegations against the late preacher. This action comes after the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) aired controversial documentary reports about allegations of torture and rape linked to TB Joshua.
The termination of Emmanuel TV’s channel on YouTube is a response to the platform’s policies against hate speech, cyberbullying, and harassment, particularly targeting survivors of sexual violence. The move follows openDemocracy’s report on more than 50 abusive videos amplifying attacks against Joshua’s accusers.
The documentary by BBC World Service, in collaboration with openDemocracy, featured whistleblowers who made on-the-record allegations of sexual and psychological torture, financial fraud, and criminal negligence by Joshua. In a disturbing backlash, YouTube accounts promoting SCOAN shared archival video footage depicting experiences of these abuse survivors, leading to the termination of Emmanuel TV’s channel.
